What is the difference between a COB LED strip and an SOB LED strip?
A COB LED strip buries bare dies under one phosphor layer, which caps most product at roughly 12W/m before the phosphor discolours. An SOB LED strip (also written FOB, S-COB or COB Pro) mounts flip-chip dies on a thick-copper board and covers them individually, so the same dot-free line runs to 24W/m, holds CRI 95 and keeps SDCM ≤3 over the reel. How far can a single feed LED strip run without voltage drop?
A standard 24V constant-voltage COB tape fades after 5 m. The constant-current SOB boards hold rated brightness for 15 m from a single feed and 30 m fed from both ends; the 36V and 48V builds push a single feed past 20 m. Head-to-tail brightness stays within a few percent because each segment regulates its own current.

What does SDCM ≤3 colour consistency mean on a dot-free strip?
SDCM is the MacAdam ellipse: at ≤3 steps two reels installed end to end read as one colour to the eye. On a continuous dotless line any binning error is obvious because there is no dark gap to hide it, so DENO bins SOB reels to ≤3 SDCM as standard and to ≤1 SDCM on request for museum and retail work.
