Frequently Asked Questions

What power range is required for the 16673 SOB White Chasing Flow LED strip?

This LED strip operates within a power range of 8.6W to 35W per meter, depending on the specific configuration and load. It requires a 24V input voltage.

What are the common applications for this SOB White Chasing Flow LED strip?

The dynamic chasing flow effect makes it ideal for commercial displays, bars, KTVs, restaurants, and home accent lighting where an engaging and lively atmosphere is desired.

Is the DENO LED 16673 strip dimmable and what is its warranty period?

Yes, this SOB LED strip is dimmable, allowing for adjustable light intensity. It comes with a robust 5-year warranty, ensuring long-term reliability for your projects.

Can this LED strip be customized for specific project lengths or requirements?

The strip is cuttable every 83.3mm, offering flexibility for custom installations. For larger volume projects or specific needs, please contact DENO LED for customization options.

Is this SOB strip light also called FOB, S-COB or COB Pro strip light?

Yes. Model 16673 belongs to the DENO SOB (Spot on Board) family, which the market also calls FOB strip light, S-COB strip light or COB Pro strip light. All three names describe the same dot-free chip-on-board LED strip construction, so you can quote it under whichever term your project specification uses.

Why choose this S-COB strip light over a standard COB LED strip?

Compared with conventional COB LED strip, DENO SOB / FOB strip light supports higher power up to 24W/m instead of roughly 12W/m, CRI 95 and full-spectrum options, SDCM <=3 colour consistency, and single-end power feed at 5m, 10m and 15m without visible head-to-tail brightness loss, with higher luminous efficacy and lumen output.

Chasing LED Strip — Buyer Questions

What is a chasing LED strip and how does it differ from plain RGB?

A chasing LED strip — also called a running water or flow LED strip light, and 'running horse' tape in the older trade catalogues — splits the run into individually driven segments so light travels along the line. Plain RGB changes the whole run at once; a chasing build animates it.

Is there an addressable COB LED strip that is still dot-free?

Yes. The SPI digital SOB build carries 320 LEDs/m at 5V with a 15.625 mm cut unit, so each pixel is a short continuous bar of light rather than a visible dot. That is the point of a pixel COB LED strip dot-free: the animation reads as a moving line, not a row of marching LEDs.

Which IC and protocol do the chasing boards use — WS2811, WS2812 or SPI/DMX?

SPI boards ship with WS2811, WS2812B, WS2815 or SK6812 class ICs depending on voltage and pixel pitch, and DMX512 versions are built for stage and architectural controllers. Tell DENO the console or controller you are using and the matching IC is fitted at production.

Can I get a smooth chasing effect LED strip at 24V?

Yes — the 16673 white chasing build runs 360 LEDs/m at 24V with an 83.3 mm segment, which gives a clean flowing wipe over long architectural lines while keeping the current low enough for 10 m runs. Use 5V SPI where you need fine pixel resolution instead of long runs.

Is chasing tape suitable for stage, KTV, bar and event lighting?

It is the main use. DMX and SPI chasing runs sync to the lighting console for stage edges, bar fronts, KTV ceilings and event trussing, and the dot-free surface keeps close-range camera shots free of the LED dot pattern that ruins broadcast footage.

SOB is the upgraded generation of the COB LED strip

Every SOB board on this page starts from the classic COB recipe — one continuous phosphor line, zero visible dots — and rebuilds it on flip-chip dies and thick copper. The result keeps the COB look but runs to 24W/m, holds CRI 95 and stays within SDCM ≤3 over the full reel. If your project is comfortable at 4–12W/m, the classic COB range remains the economical choice; if you need double the output or a 15 m single-feed run, you are already on the right page.
