Single Colour COB LED Strip — Buyer Questions

Which colour temperature should a single colour COB LED strip be?

Pick 2700K–3000K for hospitality and residential warmth, 4000K for offices and kitchens, and 6000K–6500K for retail, task and technical areas. DENO bins every single colour COB LED strip to SDCM ≤3 so two reels installed end to end read as one colour, and 1800K to 2400K amber options are available for façade and bar work.

What is the difference between CRI 90, CRI 95 and CRI 98 COB LED strip?

The gap is in the deep reds and the efficacy you trade for them. CRI 90 suits general architectural light, CRI 95 with R9 > 50 is the practical standard for retail and hospitality, and CRI 98 is specified where colour judgement matters — galleries, showrooms, cosmetics. Each step up costs roughly 5–10% in lumens per watt, so specify the grade the space actually needs.

Which COB LED strip works best for under cabinet and shelf lighting?

A narrow 4.5 mm or 8 mm 12V/24V COB tape at 480–528 LEDs/m is the usual answer. It fits shallow aluminium channel under a cabinet or inside a shelf edge, the dot-free line hides no hardware, and the 180° beam fills the worktop evenly without the striping an SMD tape shows at close range.

How bright is a COB LED strip in lumens per metre?

DENO single colour COB tape delivers roughly 500 lm/m at 4W/m and up to about 2000 lm/m on the 12W/m builds at 4000K, CRI 90. Higher CRI grades trade a little output for colour accuracy. If the design needs more than 2000 lm/m from a dot-free line, the SOB boards at 24W/m are the next step rather than over-driving COB.

Can a COB LED strip be supplied waterproof for wet areas?

Yes. Single colour COB tape is available IP20 for dry interiors, IP65 with a silicone coating for kitchens and bathrooms, and IP67 in an extruded silicone sleeve for outdoor and washdown areas. Waterproofing adds a little diffusion, which the dot-free line tolerates far better than an SMD tape.
