What is an SPI addressable COB LED strip?
An SPI COB LED strip is a dot-free tape with a driver IC controlling each addressable segment, so chasing, gradient and running-water effects play across a continuous line instead of a row of visible pixels. Which IC should an addressable COB LED strip use?
Pick by control system and segment length: WS2811/WS2812-class ICs suit standard SPI controllers and short segments, UCS2904-class ICs add a fourth channel for RGBW effects, and constant-current ICs keep brightness identical along a long run. Tell DENO the controller you use and the IC is matched to it.

How smooth is a chasing effect on a dot-free strip?
Much smoother than on SMD pixel tape. Because the phosphor line is continuous, a moving segment reads as a travelling band of light with soft edges, not a series of switching dots — which is why stage, KTV, club and signage projects specify addressable COB for slow gradients and running-water sequences.

How far can an SPI COB LED strip run before data or power injection?
Plan power injection every 5 m at 24V and follow the IC's data-length limit, typically 5–10 m per data line before a repeater. Data errors usually show as a flickering tail, so specify the run length up front and DENO pre-plans the injection points on the drawing.

Can addressable COB tape be driven from DMX or Art-Net?
Yes, through an SPI decoder. DMX512 and Art-Net controllers convert to the SPI protocol the strip expects, which is the normal route for stage and architectural media installations that need the dot-free line to sit inside an existing lighting network.
