Frequently Asked Questions
What are the common applications for this COB LED strip light?
This COB LED strip light is widely used in decorative lighting, signage backlighting, advertising displays, and exhibition booth illumination due to its soft, uniform light.
Does the 6702 model support dimming functionality?
Yes, the 6702 COB LED Strip Light is fully dimmable, allowing for adjustable brightness to suit various lighting requirements and ambiance settings.
What certifications does this COB LED strip light hold?
This product adheres to RoHS environmental standards, ensuring it does not contain harmful substances and is safe for various commercial applications.
Can this COB strip be easily installed in custom lengths?
Yes, the strip is designed with a cuttable increment of 55.55mm, offering significant flexibility for custom lengths and intricate installations in various projects.
Is a COB LED strip better than an SMD strip for dot-free lighting?
Yes for continuous linear light. A COB LED strip spreads phosphor over the whole surface, so there are no visible dots even without a deep diffuser, while a standard SMD strip needs 240 LEDs/m plus a frosted cover to get close. Choose SMD only when you need higher output per watt or RGB pixel control.
Which aluminum channel should I use with this COB LED strip?
Match the channel inner width to the strip PCB width — 8mm and 10mm COB strips fit DENO 10x10mm, 12x8mm and 17.5x7mm profiles. A surface mount channel suits shelves and ceilings, a recessed trimless channel suits plaster-in cove lines, and the aluminum body also acts as the heat sink the strip needs.
10mm COB LED Strip — Buyer Questions
What is a 10mm COB LED strip used for?
The 10 mm board is the workhorse 24V COB LED strip: wide enough for 480, 528 or 576 LEDs/m and for the copper needed at 8–12W/m, and still a fit for standard 12 mm inner-width aluminium profile. It is the default for cove, ceiling perimeter and corridor lines up to about 5 m per feed.

How many LEDs per metre does a 24V COB LED strip have?
DENO 24V COB tape is built at 360, 480, 528 and 576 LEDs/m. Higher density means a shorter cut unit and a smoother line at close range; it does not by itself mean more light, because wattage per metre is set by the drive current. Ask for the lm/m figure, not just the LED count.

How long can a 10mm 24V COB LED strip run from one power feed?
About 5 m at 24V on a single feed and 10 m fed from both ends before the tail dims visibly. The 48V 480 LEDs/m build extends a single run to roughly 10–12 m, and constant-current SOB boards go to 15 m from one feed if the layout cannot take a mid-feed.

Does a 10mm COB LED strip need a heat sink?
Above roughly 8W/m, yes — mount it in aluminium profile. The continuous phosphor line spreads heat better than discrete SMD packages, but a 12W/m run taped to plasterboard will lose lumens and shift colour over time. Aluminium channel typically buys 10–15°C of junction temperature.

What cutting unit does the 10mm COB LED strip have?
Between 27.8 mm and 50 mm depending on density and voltage — the 24V 576 LEDs/m board cuts every 27.8 mm, the 528 LEDs/m board every 45.45 mm and the 360 LEDs/m board every 50 mm. Always design joinery around the cut unit, since the shortest piece you can power equals one unit.

Colour Changing COB LED Strip — Buyer Questions
What is a multi colour COB LED strip?
A multi colour COB LED strip puts two or more channels under the same continuous phosphor line, so the colour changes but the dots never appear. DENO builds CCT (dual white), RGB, RGBW and SPI addressable versions from 360 to 840 LEDs/m at 24V, all cut-to-length and all dot-free at 180°.

Should I choose CCT, RGB or RGBW COB LED strip?
Choose CCT when the space only needs white light that shifts from 2700K to 6500K, RGB when colour is decorative, and RGBW when one line must do both — saturated colour for events and a proper white for everyday use. RGBW costs more per metre but removes the second strip most projects otherwise install.

Can colour changing COB tape dim smoothly without flicker?
Yes, with a PWM driver above 3 kHz or a flicker-free constant-voltage supply. Because the phosphor line is continuous there is no stroboscopic dot pattern for a camera to catch, so DENO multi-colour COB tape is a common choice for studios and retail spaces filmed on phones.
Need more than 12W/m of dot-free light? Meet the SOB upgrade
COB LED strip is the reference for seamless, dot-free lines — but the shared phosphor layer caps most builds around 12W/m and a 5 m single feed. DENO's SOB series is the direct upgrade: the same continuous line on flip-chip dies and 105 µm copper, carrying 24W/m, CRI 95 and 15 m runs from one feed. Spec the COB range for coves and joinery; step up to SOB when the lux target or the run length says so.
