Frequently Asked Questions
What are the common applications for this COB LED strip light?
This 6704 COB LED strip light is widely used in decorative lighting, signage, advertising signs, exhibition booths, and residential architectural lighting projects due to its uniform light output.
What is the maximum continuous run length for the 6704 COB LED strip?
The maximum recommended continuous run length for this 24V COB LED strip is 5 meters to ensure consistent brightness and prevent voltage drop issues across the entire strip.
Is this COB LED strip dimmable and what kind of power supply does it require?
Yes, the 6704 COB LED strip is dimmable. It requires a compatible 24V constant voltage (CV) LED driver to function properly and allow for dimming control.
Does this product meet any environmental or safety standards?
Yes, this COB LED strip light is designed to be free from harmful substances and is in compliance with the RoHS environmental standards, ensuring a safe and responsible lighting solution.
Should you choose RGB or RGBW LED strip lights?
RGB LED strip lights mix colour but produce a weak, tinted white. If the installation also needs usable white light for everyday use, choose RGBW or RGBCCT, which adds a dedicated white chip. Pure RGB is best where the strip is only ever a colour accent.
Is a COB LED strip better than an SMD strip for dot-free lighting?
Yes for continuous linear light. A COB LED strip spreads phosphor over the whole surface, so there are no visible dots even without a deep diffuser, while a standard SMD strip needs 240 LEDs/m plus a frosted cover to get close. Choose SMD only when you need higher output per watt or RGB pixel control.
RGB LED Strip Lights — Buyer Questions
What is the difference between RGB and RGBW LED strip lights?
An RGB LED strip mixes red, green and blue dies to produce colour, and its 'white' is a mix that always carries a colour cast. RGBW LED strip lights add a dedicated white die — 2700K to 6500K, Ra 90+ — so the same run can deliver usable architectural white and saturated colour scenes without a second channel of tape.

Should I use a 12V or 24V RGB LED strip?
24V is the default for architectural work: at the same wattage it draws half the current of 12V, so a single feed covers 5–10 m without visible colour shift at the far end. 12V RGB LED strip is reserved for short cabinet, furniture and vehicle runs where the driver or controller is 12V-native.

Can an RGB LED strip be dot-free?
Yes, if the LED pitch is tight enough for the three dies to blend before the light leaves the diffuser. DENO builds high-density RGB boards at 2.1–4.2 mm pitch, which removes both the dot pattern and the rainbow fringing typical of 60 LEDs/m colour tape in shallow profiles.
Do you make an outdoor waterproof RGB LED strip?
Yes. RGB builds are available IP65 silicone-coated, IP67 sleeved and IP68 fully potted, plus DENO WAP™ conformal coating that stays clear and flexible instead of yellowing. Marine-grade variants add salt-spray resistant terminations for dock and yacht installations.

How is an RGB LED strip controlled — DMX, DALI or a standard controller?
Common RGB tape is a 4-pin constant-voltage load, so it works with any PWM controller: standard RF/Wi-Fi controllers, 0–10V, DALI DT8 or DMX512 decoders. Choose a driver and decoder with at least 1 kHz PWM (16 kHz for camera-facing work) to keep the run flicker-free on video.

Can I order a custom RGB LED strip?
Yes — LED count, pitch, PCB width from 5 mm, copper weight, cut unit, IP class and connector type are all configurable, including RGB+CCT (five-channel) and mixed RGB/white layouts. DENO is a manufacturer, so a non-standard colour build is tooled from an existing FPCB stack-up rather than quoted as a new product line.

Colour Changing COB LED Strip — Buyer Questions
What is a multi colour COB LED strip?
A multi colour COB LED strip puts two or more channels under the same continuous phosphor line, so the colour changes but the dots never appear. DENO builds CCT (dual white), RGB, RGBW and SPI addressable versions from 360 to 840 LEDs/m at 24V, all cut-to-length and all dot-free at 180°.

Should I choose CCT, RGB or RGBW COB LED strip?
Choose CCT when the space only needs white light that shifts from 2700K to 6500K, RGB when colour is decorative, and RGBW when one line must do both — saturated colour for events and a proper white for everyday use. RGBW costs more per metre but removes the second strip most projects otherwise install.

Can colour changing COB tape dim smoothly without flicker?
Yes, with a PWM driver above 3 kHz or a flicker-free constant-voltage supply. Because the phosphor line is continuous there is no stroboscopic dot pattern for a camera to catch, so DENO multi-colour COB tape is a common choice for studios and retail spaces filmed on phones.
Need more than 12W/m of dot-free light? Meet the SOB upgrade
COB LED strip is the reference for seamless, dot-free lines — but the shared phosphor layer caps most builds around 12W/m and a 5 m single feed. DENO's SOB series is the direct upgrade: the same continuous line on flip-chip dies and 105 µm copper, carrying 24W/m, CRI 95 and 15 m runs from one feed. Spec the COB range for coves and joinery; step up to SOB when the lux target or the run length says so.
