DENO's Special series covers custom LED strip lights that fall outside standard catalogue formats — boards engineered to a drawing rather than picked from a shelf. The range includes cut-anywhere (arbitrary cut) strips such as the 2216 6mm 24V 180 LEDs/m board that can be trimmed between any two adjacent LEDs, 5V and 12V 9mm 140 LEDs/m strips for USB, power-bank and battery-driven products, a 2835 gold-yellow 10mm 24V strip at 50mm cut intervals for signage and hospitality, a two-in-one CCT dual-loop 2835 board, and a food-safe 5050 24V strip for display cabinets and cold rooms. FPCB widths run from 6mm to 10mm with 2oz or 3oz copper for low voltage drop. Every board in this series can be re-specified: PCB width and shape, copper weight, LED type and pitch, CCT and CRI bin, cut interval, reel length, connector and encapsulation (IP20 to IP68) are all open parameters. As a direct LED strip manufacturer with in-house roll-to-roll FPCB production, DENO builds custom LED strip lights to drawing with typical sampling in days, and every reel ships CE, UL and RoHS compliant. Frequently asked questions

Can these LED strips be cut anywhere, or only at fixed marks?

Several boards in this series are arbitrary-cut, meaning the strip can be cut between any two adjacent LEDs rather than only at printed marks — the 6mm 24V 180 LEDs/m and the 9mm 5V/12V/24V 140 LEDs/m strips all work this way. A true cut-to-length LED strip removes the offcut waste you get with 50mm or 100mm cut intervals, which matters most in millwork and display cases. Standard-interval versions (for example 50mm/cut on the 2835 gold-yellow strip) remain available where cost is the priority.

Do you supply 5V LED strip for USB and battery-powered products?

Yes. The 9mm 5V 140 LEDs/m board is built for USB, power-bank and low-voltage battery applications where a 12V or 24V driver is not practical. Because voltage drop is steep at 5V, we recommend runs of 1m or less per feed, or a mid-feed injection point; for anything longer, the same footprint is available at 12V and 24V so the fixture design can stay unchanged.

How narrow can a custom LED strip be?

This series starts at 6mm FPCB width, with 9mm and 10mm options above it. A 6mm board fits aluminium channels and cabinet reveals that will not take a standard 8mm or 10mm strip, and still carries 180 LEDs/m for a near dot-free line. Below 6mm we move to the ultra-narrow 3mm series; above 10mm, wider boards are used where copper area for heat dissipation is the limiting factor.

Do you make amber or gold-yellow LED strip lights?

Yes. The 2835 gold-yellow 10mm 24V strip is a stock non-white option used for signage, hospitality and warm decorative work where 1800K-2200K white is still too neutral. Amber, red, blue, green and custom-binned single-colour boards can be produced to the same footprint, and dual-colour or CCT-adjustable layouts are available on 10mm boards.

Is there a food-safe LED strip for display cabinets and cold rooms?

Yes. The 5050 24V food-safe build uses a non-toxic encapsulation and sealed construction rated for refrigerated display cases, bakery and fresh-food cabinets. It resists condensation and daily wipe-down cleaning, and can be supplied with IP65-IP68 coatings where direct wash-down is required.

What can be customised on an OEM LED strip order?

FPCB width and shape, copper weight, LED type and density, CCT and CRI bin, cut interval, reel length, connector and encapsulation can all be specified. As a direct LED strip manufacturer, DENO builds to drawing, including non-standard shapes and project-specific labelling, with private-label packaging available from moderate order volumes.

What is the process for ordering a custom LED strip light?

Send us a drawing, target specification or reference sample. Our engineers confirm the electrical and mechanical design, return a datasheet with photometric data and wiring diagram, then produce samples for approval — typically within days. Mass production follows on our roll-to-roll FPCB line, and every reel is tested and ships CE, UL and RoHS compliant.

What is the minimum order quantity and lead time for custom builds?

Standard Special-series boards are stocked on 5m reels with no project minimum. Fully custom builds typically start from a few hundred metres depending on the FPCB tooling required; sampling takes days and production lead time is usually two to four weeks after sample approval. Can special LED strips be dimmed and used with standard controllers?

Yes. All constant-voltage boards in this series dim with standard PWM, 0-10V, DALI or TRIAC drivers through a compatible interface. The two-in-one CCT dual-loop board works with CCT controllers for tunable white, and single-colour boards dim cleanly from 100% down to under 1% with a flicker-free driver.

Which IP ratings are available for special application strips?

Boards ship as IP20 for indoor use by default. Conformal coating (IP54), silicone sleeve (IP65), silicone extrusion (IP67) and full potting (IP68) are available on request for outdoor, marine, cold-room or wash-down duty. Encapsulation slightly shifts CCT, so we bin LEDs after coating to keep colour consistent across reels.
