How Side bending LED neon flex 0612S-EE performs on site

Specification notes for 6x12mm section 24V DC silicone neon: what it does outdoors, what it does around water, and how far it bends when you trace a building.

Outdoor & façade exposure

Specify for permanent exterior installation above the waterline (IP67).

The silicone is injection moulded onto the FPCB in one shot, so there is no glued cover to open up after a winter of thermal cycling — the failure mode PVC neon rope light shows in its second outdoor summer. UV-stabilised silicone keeps its colour instead of yellowing, and the body stays elastic from −30 °C to +80 °C, so a façade run installed in summer will not go brittle in a January frost. Feed with 24V DC and plan 5m per feed to hold end-of-run brightness across a long elevation.

  • Ingress protection IP67
  • UV-stable silicone, −30 °C to +80 °C
  • 2.8W/m load

Pools, spas & wet areas

Suitable for pool surrounds, spa ceilings and steam-adjacent joinery — not for submersion.

IP67 covers rain, splash, wash-down and steam — pool decks, shower reveals, sauna ceilings and spa coves — but the body is not intended to sit under water. Mount it above the waterline in an aluminium groove so condensate drains away from the feed joint, run 24V DC for wet-zone safety, and choose the IP68 variant where the channel can flood.

  • IP67 — splash and rain, not submersion
  • 24V DC
  • Moulded end cap and feed joint

Architectural contour & signage

Bends horizontally, flat on the wall at about R30mm — the right pick for curved building contours, balcony bands, circular ceilings and racetrack coves.

Side bending LED neon flex takes its curve horizontally, flat on the wall, which is what decides whether a shape is possible without cutting and re-soldering. At about R30mm the outside of the curve stays evenly lit: 120 LEDs/m is matched to the diffuser depth so you read a continuous line of light rather than dots, even at 30 cm. Printed cut marks with indexed solder pads underneath let a sign maker shorten a letter stroke on site and re-seal it, and mounting clips, aluminium grooves and moulded bend grooves cover surface, recessed and free-form fixing.

  • Cross-section 6x12mm
  • Bend radius about R30mm
  • 120 LEDs/m, dot-free

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the key advantages of silicone material for this neon light?

The high-performance silicone ensures stable molecular structure, preventing discoloration and aging, while offering superior resistance to environmental factors.

Can this flexible neon light be installed in outdoor environments?

Yes, with an IP67 rating, the 0612S-EE is fully protected against dust and water immersion, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.

What is the maximum continuous length for installation?

The maximum continuous length for this 24V 0612S-EE silicone flexible neon light is 5 meters, ensuring consistent performance and light quality.

Is customization available for specific project requirements?

DENO LED offers flexible solutions and can discuss customization options based on project scale and specific technical requirements for B2B orders.

What are the key specifications of #0612S-EE?

0612 Silicone Flexible Neon Light | 6*12mm | 24V | 120LEDs | 50mm/cut | #0612S-EE: 2835 LEDs, 120, 24V, 8mm FPCB, 3oz copper foil, 2.8~28.8W power, cut unit 6LEDs/50mm. Photometric files, wiring diagrams and test reports are available in the downloads block on this page.

Which LED driver and run length suit #0612S-EE?

0612 Silicone Flexible Neon Light | 6*12mm | 24V | 120LEDs | 50mm/cut | #0612S-EE is a constant-voltage 24V product, so pair it with a CE or UL listed 24V constant-voltage LED driver rated about 20% above the connected load. Maximum single run is 5m. 5m Single / 10m Dual Input power. Feeding from both ends or mid-feeding halves the copper distance and roughly quarters the voltage drop.

Injection Moulded LED Neon Flex — Buyer Questions

What is an injection moulded LED neon strip?

An injection moulded (US: molded) LED neon strip is formed by hot-melting silicone directly around the FPCB in a single shot, instead of sliding the board into a pre-extruded tube. There is no air gap and no glue seam, so water has no path in and the diffuser sits at a fixed distance from every LED — which is what keeps the light line even over a 20 m façade run.

Why is a seamless injection neon strip more reliable than an extruded tube?

Extruded neon relies on adhesive to bond the cover, the tube and the end cap; UV and thermal cycling eventually open that bond and the run fogs from the inside. A seamless injection LED neon strip has one continuous silicone body, so ageing tests show no delamination, no internal condensation and no yellowing line after 20,000+ hours of sun exposure.

Is IP68 injection moulded neon flex suitable for underwater use?

IP68 builds are rated for continuous immersion at shallow depth — pool coping, fountain rims, planter edges and flooded coves. Both body and terminations are potted in the same operation, and the feed cable is over-moulded rather than glued. For permanent submersion below 1 m, DENO specifies a marine-grade cable gland and a sealed junction box outside the water line.

Can injection moulded neon flex handle outdoor façade temperature swings?

Yes. The silicone body stays elastic from −30 °C to +80 °C and expands at a similar rate to the FPCB, so the joint does not shear the way a PVC jacket does at winter temperatures. Neon flex for outdoor façade work is supplied with UV-stabilised silicone and a 105 μm copper FPCB that spreads heat instead of concentrating it under each LED.

Do injection moulded end caps really stop water ingress?

They are the deciding factor. Most field failures on waterproof neon flex start at a glued cap that shrank away from the body. An injection-moulded end cap is fused to the same silicone compound, so cap and body behave as one part under thermal cycling — DENO pressure-tests every terminated length before it leaves the line.

Can the injection moulded body be made in a custom colour or profile?

Yes — body colour (milky white, black, grey, colour-matched), cross-section, wall thickness, light-emitting window width and printed cut interval are all tooling parameters, not catalogue limits. Because DENO owns the moulding line, a project-specific integrated-moulding neon strip is set up from an existing stack-up rather than quoted as a new product programme.

Side Bending LED Neon Flex — Buyer Questions

What is a side bending LED neon flex?

A side bend neon strip flexes left and right in the plane of the emitting face, so the run can follow a curve drawn on a wall or ceiling without twisting. The FPCB is built narrow with a serpentine copper layout, which is what allows horizontal bending without cracking the copper or stressing the solder joints.

What is the minimum bend radius of a side emitting bendable neon strip?

Typical side bend bodies hold R30 mm at 6×12 mm and R80–R120 mm at 12×25 mm; the wider the body in the bend plane, the larger the radius. Staying above the rated radius keeps the outer wall from whitening and prevents the pitch from opening up into visible dark spots on the outside of the curve.

Is side bend neon flex used for building contour lighting?

It is the default choice. Building contour and outline work follows the plane of the façade — cornices, arches, balcony edges — so the run must bend sideways while staying flat against the substrate. Combined with an IP67 injection-moulded body and stainless clips, a side bend LED neon flex holds a clean architectural outline through weather cycling.
