Frequently Asked Questions
What are the key specifications of 63849?
63849: 2835, 128LEDs/m, DC 24V, 10 mm PCB, 3oz copper FPCB, cuttable 8LEDs/62.5mm. Full photometric data, wiring diagrams and test reports are available in the downloads section of this page.
How long can a single run of this ultra long run LED strip be?
Maximum single run for this model is 10m. Feeding from both ends or using a mid-point tap halves the effective distance per segment, so a ultra long run LED strip can cover twice that length on one circuit when wired accordingly.
Can DENO customise this ultra long run LED strip for a project?
Yes. DENO manufactures the Ultra-Long SMD Strips series as an OEM and ODM supplier: reel length, colour temperature, CRI grade, PCB width, waterproofing and private labelling can all be specified. Request a quote for lead time and project pricing.
What limits how long an LED strip run can be?
Voltage drop and conductor current, not the LED itself. A long run LED strip combines low watts per metre, 2 oz or thicker copper and a higher bus voltage such as 24V, 36V or 48V to reach 20 m or more from one feed while staying inside a 3 percent drop.
How much can a high efficacy LED strip cut energy use?
Moving from a typical 100 lm/W strip to a 180 to 200 lm/W high lumen LED strip roughly halves the wattage needed for the same lumen output. Over a long commercial run this also lowers the required driver size and helps the installation reach a better ErP energy class.
What does a built-in IC do on a constant current LED strip?
Each segment carries its own constant current driver IC, so LED current stays fixed even as the bus voltage sags along the reel. The result is no visible brightness fade at the far end, per-segment protection, and freedom to feed power at either end or at any mid point of the run.
High Efficiency LED Strip — Buyer Questions
What counts as a high efficiency LED strip in lumens per watt?
In 2026 a mainstream 24V 2835 board sits around 120-140 lm/W. A high efficiency LED strip starts at roughly 160 lm/W and DENO's top binned 2835 and 2110 boards are measured at up to 200 lm/W at 4000K Ra 80, LM-79 tested at 25 degrees Celsius. The figure is light-source efficacy of the tape itself, measured without the driver, which is exactly how the ErP energy label is calculated.

What is the difference between high efficiency and high efficacy LED strip lights?
They describe the same measurement. Efficacy is the engineering term for lumens delivered per watt consumed; efficiency is how buyers and tender documents usually phrase it. DENO publishes lm/W per model so both audiences read the same number, and the ErP energy class printed on the reel is derived from it.
Which ErP energy class can a high efficiency LED strip reach?
Class C is achievable on the best-binned 2835 and 2110 boards above 180 lm/W, class D covers the 160-180 lm/W band and most well-specified architectural tape lands in class E. High-CRI 95+ and full spectrum builds drop one or two classes because phosphor conversion costs lumens. Every DENO datasheet states the measured class so it can be reproduced by a notified body.

Does a high efficiency LED strip run cooler and last longer?
Yes. Fewer watts per lumen means less heat into the FPCB, so junction temperature drops and L70 lifetime extends. Combined with 2 oz copper and a 99.9% pure copper foil the same brightness can be produced at 20-30% lower wattage, which also lets a single driver feed a longer run and keeps aluminium profiles below the touch-temperature limits used in hospitality projects.

How much energy does a high efficiency LED strip save on a large project?
Take 500 m of cove lighting at 10 hours a day. A 130 lm/W board delivering 1000 lm/m draws about 7.7 W/m; a 190 lm/W board delivers the same output at about 5.3 W/m. Across 500 m that is 1.2 kW saved, roughly 4,380 kWh a year, and it usually removes one driver and one circuit from the electrical schedule as well.
Can I get a high efficiency LED strip in 12V, 24V, 36V or 48V?
24V is the efficiency sweet spot and carries the full binned range. 12V is available where fixture space or existing drivers dictate it, at the cost of shorter single-feed runs. 36V and 48V constant-current boards keep the same lm/W while extending a single feed well past 20 m, which is where the real system efficiency gain shows up on long architectural lines.

Long LED Strip Lights — Buyer Questions
How long can a long LED strip run be on a single power feed?
A standard 24V constant-voltage tape is limited to about 5 m before the far end visibly dims. DENO's long-run boards combine 2 oz to 3 oz copper, 24V or 48V input and per-segment constant-current ICs, which takes a single feed to 20 m, and up to 50 m on 48V builds, with no measurable fall-off between the first and last metre.
Why do long strip lights get dimmer at the far end, and how is it fixed?
Copper resistance drops the supply voltage along the tape, so LEDs near the end of the run receive less drive current. Three fixes work together: raise the voltage (24V, 36V or 48V), raise the copper weight (2 oz or 3 oz), and add a linear constant-current IC per segment so each segment holds its current regardless of the local voltage it sees.

Can long LED light strips be cut to an exact length for a room or kitchen?
Yes. Cut units run from 12.5 mm to 100 mm depending on voltage and density, so a run can be trimmed to a drawing dimension on site, and DENO also pre-cuts and pre-wires to length at the factory for room, cove and kitchen installations. Ask for the cut unit in the quote — it decides how closely the finished line matches the millwork.
