LED Strip Wiring Layout Planner

Feed topology decides how far a run can go. Feeding a strip from both ends, or tapping power in at the mid point, halves the effective distance current must travel to L/2, so the far end of the run holds its brightness.

How the LED Strip Wiring Layout Planner works

Feed topology decides how far a run can go. Feeding a strip from both ends, or tapping power in at the mid point, halves the effective distance current must travel to L/2, so the far end of the run holds its brightness.

Linear constant-current tape with per-segment ICs accepts single-end, both-ends or any mid-strip tap, which gives installers freedom to bring power in wherever the building allows.

  • Single-end feed: full length L from one connection.
  • Both-ends or mid-feed: effective distance L/2.
  • Constant-current boards: any mid-strip tap is allowed.

Frequently asked questions

Should I feed an LED strip from one end or both ends?

Feeding both ends halves the effective distance to L/2, which reduces voltage drop on long constant-voltage runs. Short runs inside the single-end limit can be fed from one end.

Can I connect power in the middle of an LED strip?

Yes. A mid-point feed also gives an effective distance of L/2. On linear constant-current tape with per-segment ICs any mid-strip tap is supported.

How do I wire several LED strip sections to one driver?

Run each section back to the driver in parallel instead of chaining them end to end, so every section receives full voltage.
