Overview

Model 18631 is a 24V selectable power LED strip with three fixed output levels — 7.2W/m, 10.2W/m and 21W/m — chosen by the wiring configuration at installation. The 10mm FPCB carries 140 LEDs/m at 7.1mm pitch for a dot-free line, cuts every 50mm (7 LEDs), and uses 2 oz copper dimensioned for the highest level so the lower levels run cooler.

Description

3-in-1 Selectable Power via Wiring — 7.2W/m, 10.2W/m and 21W/m on one 24V board; the level is set by which conductors are landed at the driver, with no jumper to cut and no controller in the circuit. Field selectable without changing product — brightness is chosen during installation, so a late change from ambient cove light to accent light needs a rewire, not a new reel. Three fixed operating points, not a dimmer — every level runs at full drive, so efficacy, PWM depth and flicker performance stay at datasheet values at each wattage. 140 LEDs/m on a 10mm FPCB — 7.1mm LED pitch reads as a continuous line behind a shallow diffuser instead of a row of dots. Cut every 50mm (7 LEDs) — precise lengths for millwork, reveals and joinery, with solder pads on every cut unit for power injection. Thermally sized for the top level — 2 oz copper FPCB dimensioned for 21W/m, so the 7.2W and 10.2W settings run cooler and hold lumen maintenance across the 5-year warranty. One SKU instead of three — distributors and specifiers stock a single reel that covers office, hotel corridor and retail display targets.

What is a selectable power LED strip?

A selectable power LED strip is one board that can be run at several fixed wattages per metre — DENO builds 3-in-1 versions at 7.2W, 10.2W and 21W/m and 6-in-1 versions from 9.6W up to 28.8W/m. The level is chosen at installation by which conductors are connected, so the same 24V SKU covers ambient cove light and bright accent light without changing product.

How do you change the wattage on an adjustable wattage LED strip?

By wiring, not by a dimmer. The FPCB carries parallel LED groups on separate conductors; connecting one, two or all of them at 24V sets the number of active groups and therefore the wattage per metre. No tools, no jumpers to cut and no controller are needed, and the choice is reversible if the project brief changes on site.

Does switching power levels shorten the life of the strip?

No. Each power level is a designed operating point, not an overdrive: drive current per die stays inside the LED's rated window at every step, and the 10 mm board with 2 oz copper is dimensioned for the highest level, so the lower levels simply run cooler. Lumen maintenance and the 5-year warranty apply to every selectable level.

Selectable power LED strip vs a dimmer — which should I specify?

A dimmer changes light output at runtime and costs efficacy, PWM depth and sometimes flicker performance; a selectable power LED strip sets the design brightness once, at full drive, with no control gear in the circuit. Most projects use both: pick the wattage level that matches the target lux, then dim from there for scene control.

Where is a multi power LED strip most useful?
