Frequently Asked Questions
What are the key specifications of 16771?
16771: 2835, 120 LEDs/m, DC 12V, 5mm PCB, 2oz copper FPCB, cuttable 3LEDs/25mm. Full photometric data, wiring diagrams and test reports are available in the downloads section of this page.
How long can a single run of this ultra narrow LED strip be?
Maximum single run for this model is 5m. Feeding from both ends or using a mid-point tap halves the effective distance per segment, so a ultra narrow LED strip can cover twice that length on one circuit when wired accordingly.
Can DENO customise this ultra narrow LED strip for a project?
Yes. DENO manufactures the Ultra-Narrow SMD Strips series as an OEM and ODM supplier: reel length, colour temperature, CRI grade, PCB width, waterproofing and private labelling can all be specified. Request a quote for lead time and project pricing.
How long can this LED strip roll run in one continuous piece?
This model ships as a continuous roll-to-roll reel with no mid-reel solder joints, so custom single runs beyond the standard 5 m are available. Keep the run within a 3% voltage drop: lower power densities support up to 20 m single-end, higher densities need a both-ends or mid-feed connection. Use the DENO ProCalc voltage-drop tool to confirm the exact limit for your length.
Why choose a roll-to-roll strip over a standard 5 m LED strip reel?
The electroplated continuous FPCB keeps copper thickness uniform along the whole reel, so resistance stays low, brightness stays even end to end, and there are no pieced solder points that can fail during bending or long-run installation.
How narrow can a thin LED strip be?
DENO builds down to a 3 mm wide FPCB. A 3 mm LED strip fits aluminium channels, cabinet reveals, shelf edges and slim architectural slots where an 8 or 10 mm board cannot be hidden, while still carrying 2 oz copper for stable long runs.
Ultra Narrow LED Strip — Buyer Questions
How narrow can a 3mm LED strip be?
DENO's ultra-narrow boards start at 3 mm PCB width, with 4 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm as standard steps. A 3 mm strip fits inside slim aluminium reveals, glass-edge details and joinery grooves that will not accept the usual 8–10 mm tape.
Is a narrow LED strip less bright?
Not necessarily, but it has less copper for heat spreading, so output per metre is limited by thermal design rather than by the LEDs. DENO specifies 2 oz copper on 3–5 mm boards and recommends an aluminium profile; typical usable output is 6–14 W/m depending on width and density.
Can a 3mm LED strip still be high density?
Yes. Micro packages such as 1808, 2110 and 2216 allow 240–480 LEDs/m on a 3–5 mm board, so a narrow reveal can still be dot-free behind a shallow diffuser. Above that density the width usually has to grow to 8 mm for thermal reasons.

How tightly does a narrow LED strip bend?
A 3–5 mm board bends to a much tighter radius than standard tape and can be curved along its length without stressing the copper. For horizontal curves and corners, an S-bend layout removes the need to cut and solder at each turn.
What is the cut unit on an ultra-narrow LED strip?
Cut intervals typically run from 12.5 mm to 50 mm depending on voltage and density, and micro-cut versions shorten this further for exact millwork lengths. Ask for the cut unit in the quote — it decides how closely the finished run matches the drawing.

Can I order a custom width LED strip?
Yes — PCB width from 3 mm, LED density, CCT and CRI, copper weight, cut unit, IP class and connector are all configurable. DENO is a manufacturer, so a non-standard width is tooled from an existing FPCB stack-up instead of being ruled out.
