Overview
DENO #3665 is a 24V 5050 RGB LED strip with linear constant-current ICs on every 100mm unit. At 11W/m it runs 20m from a single feed and 40m from both ends; the 14.4W/m version runs 15m single-feed and 30m dual. 12mm FPCB, 3oz copper, 60 LEDs/m, cuttable every 100mm, made for continuous runs inside silicone neon or clear waterproof tubing.
Description
Linear constant-current ICs on every 100mm unit let this 24V 5050 RGB LED strip run 20m from a single feed at 11W/m (40m fed from both ends) with the same brightness and colour at the far end. High-output 14.4W/m version runs 15m single-feed (30m from both ends); 7.2W and 10.8W/m options are also available. 12mm FPCB with 3oz copper, 60 LEDs/m, cuttable every 6 LEDs (100mm); each cut section keeps its own constant-current regulation. One continuous run slides into silicone neon or clear waterproof tubing without splices, cutting feed cables, connection points and power supplies on long architectural projects. Works with standard 24V common-anode RGB controllers and DMX decoders.

How far one feed reaches
| Power option | Single-end feed | Both-ends feed |
|---|---|---|
| 11 W/m (standard) | 20 m (65.6 ft) | 40 m (131.2 ft) |
| 14.4 W/m (high output) | 15 m (49.2 ft) | 30 m (98.4 ft) |
Linear constant-current ICs on every 100 mm unit hold LED current steady, so the far end keeps the same brightness and colour as the feed end. Datasheet input current at 11 W/m: 0.4 A per metre, 6.8 A for a full 20 m run.
Standard 24V RGB strip vs #3665
- Typical 24V constant-voltage RGB: usually re-fed about every 5 m; far end dims and shifts colour on long runs; extra feed cables, junction points and drivers; splices inside neon or tube every few metres.
- DENO #3665 linear CC RGB: one feed for 20 m at 11 W/m (15 m at 14.4 W/m); same brightness and colour from start to end; fewer feed cables, connection points and power supplies; one continuous run slides into neon or clear tubing.
One reel, every channel lit
Datasheet photometrics (IP20, 1 m sample, ±10%): RGB mix 11 W/m 489 lm/m; Red 620 nm 148 lm/m; Green 515 nm 284 lm/m; Blue 460 nm 76 lm/m.
Applications
- Cove, wall-wash & perimeter lighting — Coves, recesses, wall-wash details and ceiling perimeters where a continuous, uniform line of light is required.
- Showroom & hospitality display lighting — Shelving, display cases, reception desks and signage backlighting in shops, showrooms and hospitality spaces.
- Kitchen & wardrobe under-cabinet lighting — Kitchen, wardrobe and furniture task lighting where the strip stays hidden and only the light is seen.
- Long corridor & warehouse runs — 48V feeding lets one run cover long corridors, warehouse aisles and facade lines with fewer injection points and fewer power supplies.
- Entertainment & media-facade colour scenes — Entertainment venues, media facades, gaming rooms and branded retail installs driven by DMX/SPI or standard RGB controllers.

High-Power LED Strip: Heat Dissipation & Aluminum Channel Guide
At up to 14.4W/m, 3665 is a high-power SMD LED strip. Above roughly 14.4W/m the tape can no longer shed its own heat through the FPC alone — an aluminum channel is part of the luminaire, not an accessory.
Why high-wattage strips need a heat sink
- Aluminum conducts heat roughly 30× faster than the plastics, MDF or gypsum a strip is usually stuck to, so a bare high-power run traps heat under the tape.
- LED lifetime (LM-80 / TM-21) is driven by solder-point temperature Tc. Keeping Tc inside the datasheet limit — DENO strips are rated Tc ≤ 75°C — is what preserves the rated L70 lifetime and colour stability.
- Never run 14.4W/m or more coiled on the reel, inside a sealed plastic diffuser, or directly on wood, wallpaper or foam.
Sizing rule: FPC width vs channel inner width
- Channel inner width ≥ FPC width + 2mm. This strip is 12mm wide, so it needs at least 14mm of inner width.
- The 2mm clearance absorbs extrusion tolerance and lets the tape be seated or replaced without scraping the side walls or the wiring.
- A frosted or opal PC cover then diffuses the higher lumen output into an even, dot-free line instead of visible hot spots.

Recommended LED Channels
Mount this LED strip in a DENO LED aluminum profile for heat dissipation, physical protection and diffused, dot-free output.
This strip is 12mm wide, so it needs a channel with at least 14mm inner width (12mm + 2mm clearance). Every profile below meets that.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does #3665 run 20m of RGB from one feed without the far end changing colour?
Every 100mm unit carries linear constant-current ICs that hold LED current steady as bus voltage drops along the strip, and the 3oz copper FPCB keeps that drop low. Red, green and blue stay balanced from the feed end to the far end.
What run length do I get at 11W/m and at 14.4W/m?
At the standard 11W/m: 20m single-end feed, 40m when fed from both ends. At the 14.4W/m high-output option: 15m single-end feed, 30m from both ends.
Why does a normal 24V RGB strip shift colour on long runs?
On a constant-voltage strip, voltage falls along the copper. Green and blue LEDs need a higher forward voltage than red, so they dim first and the far end drifts warmer and darker. Constant-current regulation removes that dependence.
What power supply should I size for a 20m run?
The datasheet input current at 11W/m is 0.4A per metre, 6.8A for 20m at 24V. Size the 24V constant-voltage supply and RGB controller channels with your usual safety margin above that load.
Is #3665 suitable for silicone neon or clear waterproof tubing?
Yes. Because one feed covers a long run, the strip can be sleeved as one continuous length without splicing every few metres, which reduces connection points and leak paths. IP66, IP67 and IP68 versions are available.
