How do you connect and wire an RGBW LED strip?

RGBW tape is a five-pin constant-voltage load: one shared V+ and four PWM negatives (R, G, B, W). Match the pin order printed on the board to the decoder, keep the run on a single controller output, and wire multiple runs in parallel from the driver — never in series, which starves the far run and shifts its colour.

Should I use 12V or 24V RGBW LED strip lights?

24V is the default for architectural work — at equal wattage it draws half the current, so a feed reaches 5–10 m before the white channel visibly warms and the colour mix drifts. 12V is kept for short cabinet, furniture and vehicle runs where the controller is 12V-native.
