Overview

2835 Switch Controlled Tunable White LED Strip | No Remote | 12mm | 24V | 168LEDs | 83.3mm/cut | #5214 is part of the DENO Special SMD Strips series, engineered around special application LED strip. Key specifications: 2835, 168, 24V, 12mm PCB, 3oz copper FPCB, cuttable 14LEDs/83.33mm. Every reel is produced on DENO's roll-to-roll line with 99.9% pure copper FPCB and ships CE, UL and RoHS compliant for architectural, retail and hospitality projects. OEM and ODM configurations of length, colour temperature and waterproofing are available on request.

Description

This 2835 tunable white LED strip allows color temperature switching directly through a standard wall switch without requiring external controllers or remotes. Each power toggle shifts the color temperature sequence across 2700K, 6500K, and 4000K, providing intuitive multi-white illumination for architectural lighting installations. Engineered with a 12mm wide 3oz copper PCB, this 24V constant voltage LED strip light features precise 83.33mm cutting intervals with 168 LEDs per meter. Single-bin 2835 SMD LEDs maintain color consistency under 3 SDCM across the entire five-meter maximum run length for uniform optical performance. We offer factory-direct manufacturing support, delivering reliable wholesale project supply and dimmable circuit integration for professional electrical contractors.

We use 99.99% gold wire, large-size chips, and thickened FPCB, backed by a 5-year warranty.

How a standard wall switch changes the colour temperature

Need a similar version? Need another CCT sequence, width or density with switch-controlled colour change? Send your drawing or target specification and our engineers will confirm feasibility.

One wall switch, three colour temperatures

Each quick off–on toggle moves to the next mode: 2700K warm white, 6500K cool white, then 4000K neutral white (both channels on). The strip remembers the last mode after power-off, and a dimmer can be added on the same two-wire circuit.

Dual Control on 2 Wires: CCT + Dimming

Add an ordinary single-channel 24V dimmer and the same circuit does both jobs: toggle its on/off switch to step through 2700K → 6500K → 4000K, then turn or slide the dimmer to set the brightness of the selected colour temperature.

Full dimming compatibility: works with a standard single-channel 24V dimmer. Toggle the power to change CCT (2700K → 6500K → 4000K) and use the dimmer to adjust brightness at the chosen colour temperature.

Standard 24V power supply, two output wires, no controller

DENO bench footage: the mains plug is toggled; the strip is fed only by V+ and V− from an ordinary constant-voltage supply.

Retrofit wiring

  • Conventional tunable white: 3 conductors (V+, WW−, CW−), two-channel CCT controller, remote or app, new cable runs.
  • DENO #5214: 2 conductors (V+, V−), any standard 24V constant-voltage supply, ordinary wall switch, reuses the existing two-wire circuit.

Applications

  • Cove, wall-wash & perimeter lighting — Coves, recesses, wall-wash details and ceiling perimeters where a continuous, uniform line of light is required.
  • Showroom & hospitality display lighting — Shelving, display cases, reception desks and signage backlighting in shops, showrooms and hospitality spaces.
  • Kitchen & wardrobe under-cabinet lighting — Kitchen, wardrobe and furniture task lighting where the strip stays hidden and only the light is seen.
  • Hotel & residential tunable-white scenes — Hotel rooms, residential living areas and meeting spaces where warm evening light and neutral daytime light are both required from one fixture.

High-Power LED Strip: Heat Dissipation & Aluminum Channel Guide

At up to 22W/m, 5214 is a high-power SMD LED strip. Above roughly 14.4W/m the tape can no longer shed its own heat through the FPC alone — an aluminum channel is part of the luminaire, not an accessory.

Why high-wattage strips need a heat sink

  • Aluminum conducts heat roughly 30× faster than the plastics, MDF or gypsum a strip is usually stuck to, so a bare high-power run traps heat under the tape.
  • LED lifetime (LM-80 / TM-21) is driven by solder-point temperature Tc. Keeping Tc inside the datasheet limit — DENO strips are rated Tc ≤ 75°C — is what preserves the rated L70 lifetime and colour stability.
  • Never run 14.4W/m or more coiled on the reel, inside a sealed plastic diffuser, or directly on wood, wallpaper or foam.

Sizing rule: FPC width vs channel inner width

  • Channel inner width ≥ FPC width + 2mm. This strip is 12mm wide, so it needs at least 14mm of inner width.
  • The 2mm clearance absorbs extrusion tolerance and lets the tape be seated or replaced without scraping the side walls or the wiring.
  • A frosted or opal PC cover then diffuses the higher lumen output into an even, dot-free line instead of visible hot spots.

Aluminum channels that fit this strip

Recommended LED Channels

Mount this LED strip in a DENO LED aluminum profile for heat dissipation, physical protection and diffused, dot-free output.

This strip is 12mm wide, so it needs a channel with at least 14mm inner width (12mm + 2mm clearance). Every profile below meets that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get tunable white lighting without installing any controller?

Yes. Choose DENO's switch-controlled tunable white LED strip (#5214). An ordinary wall switch changes the colour temperature: each off-on toggle steps through 2700K warm white, 6500K cool white and 4000K neutral white on a standard two-wire 24V circuit, with no CCT controller, remote or app.

How does the #5214 change colour temperature without a controller?

Switching the power off and on again with a standard wall switch steps the strip to the next white in its sequence: 2700K, then 6500K, then 4000K. No remote, app or CCT controller is needed.

How does the strip switch CCT without a signal wire?

An on-board logic IC on the FPCB detects the power toggle from the wall switch and moves the LEDs to the next channel combination, so no data or control conductor is needed.

Can I upgrade an existing single-colour 24V strip to tunable white without replacing the two wires?

Yes. The #5214 runs on a single V+/V- pair from a standard 24V constant voltage supply, so it can replace a single-colour strip where only two conductors are installed, without new cable runs.

Does the #5214 remember the last colour temperature after a power cut?

Yes. The strip stores the last selected white and returns to it the next time power is applied, so a room keeps its preferred colour temperature after a switch-off or power interruption.
